Attorney Position

We’re seeking an attorney to join our team. This may be an ideal position for an associate attorney, experienced attorney, or experienced attorney that’s looking for flexible hours while winding down their practice (or near retirement). A successful candidate will possess the following skills:
  • Experience in Probate, Family Law, Estate Planning or Estate Administration.
  • Must be in good standing and licensed to practice law in Michigan.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced law firm environment.
  • You are not required to generate new business clients. The firm would delegate client matters to you. Compensation would be based on a formula.
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, grasp new concepts quickly, and time management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work with a team and independently with minimal attorney supervision.
  • Manage legal matters assigned from inception to completion, including communicating with clients, team, courts, and opposing counsel.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills along with ability to problem solve.
  • Meet and represent clients in contested and uncontested court hearings.
  • Legal document drafting for client signing and filing with various Courts.
  • Stay updated on current laws and research laws for various legal pleadings.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft office, client management system, etc.
  • Maintain professionalism, client privacy, and confidentiality.
  • Performs other duties consistent with purpose of job as directed
Compensation & Schedule:
  • Full Time (40hours)
  • Salary: Formula basis or $65k-$85k (depending on experience)
  • 2weeks of paid vacation (annually)
  • Paid Holidays

Full time/Part Time Paralegal or Legal Assistant Position

We’re seeking a Paralegal or Legal Assistant (Full-Time/Part Time Position). A successful candidate will possess the following skills:

  • Experience in Probate, Family Law, Estate Planning or Estate Administration in a law firm setting either as a legal assistant or paralegal.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced law firm environment.
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational, grasp new concepts quickly, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work with a team and independently with minimal attorney supervision.
  • Answer phone pleasantly, greet clients, and schedule client meetings (new client intake), hearings, and deadlines.
  • Legal document drafting, formatting, and proofreading.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Powerpoint, etc.
  • Maintain client files and prepare litigation files for trial/hearings.
  • File pleadings with various county courts.
  • Maintain client privacy and confidentiality at all times.
  • Performs other duties consistent with purpose of job as directed.

Compensation & Schedule:

  • Full Time (40hours)

  • Salary commensurate with experience ($17hour-$25)

Receptionist/Administrative Assistant Position

We’re seeking an Administrative Assistant (Full-Time) with experience in providing superior customer service. A successful candidate will possess the following skills:

  • Customer service, receptionist, or administrative experience.
  • You will be the first point of contact for guests. Therefore, the ideal candidate will be personable, professional, pleasant, make a positive impression on the guests, provide excellent customer service, and have a desire to work with people.
  • Greet individuals calling or visiting the firm in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Answer phone calls, transfer calls, intake new and current client information, check voicemail and missed calls, etc.
  • Intake Process: The ability to effectively communicate in a friendly manner with potential/new clients via phone and in person by advising them of our legal services, consultation fee, closing the deal, booking the consultation on the law firm’s calendar, sending the new client confirmation email or phone call the day prior, etc.
  • Meetings: Supports meeting preparation, including coordinating schedules/calendar, drafting meeting materials, taking and distributing notes, arranging technology and refreshments, and scheduling zoom meetings as appropriate. Processing client payments (in person and by phone).
  • Communicates clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, with opposing parties, clients, etc.
  • Assist with mailing, court filings, organizing court files and maintaining office documents and records.
  • Clerical and Administrative Tasks such as making copies, scanning documents, preparing for client meetings, strong typing, spelling, typing, grammatical and proofreading skills, checking and preparing mail, opening and closing client files, etc.
  • Maintain client privacy and confidentiality at all times.
  • Performs other duties consistent with purpose of job as directed.

Compensation & Schedule:

  • Full-Time (40hours)
  • $15.00 – $17.00 per hour

Law Office Clerk Position

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented clerk to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our legal professionals by managing various tasks that facilitate the smooth operation of our office. This position requires strong organizational skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively. The Clerk will be responsible for assisting with administrative tasks.

Duties Include:

  • Paid position (hours: 10-15 per week)
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Organize client files and make copies of documents.
  • Answer phone calls.
  • Scan, email, and save mail to client files. Deliver mail to post office on occasion.
  • Occasionally travel to court to file documents in person.
  • Ability to work with a team and independently with minimal attorney supervision.
  • Maintain client privacy and confidentiality at all times.
  • Performs other duties consistent with purpose of job as directed.
  • Proficient in administrative tasks and comfortable using office software.
  • A valid driver’s license is required for document delivery responsibilities.

Compensation & Schedule:

  • Part-Time (10-15hours)
  • $15.00 – $17.00 per hour
